how was tamil nadu farmers cheated by emu?
In Tamilnadu, there is big Emu scandal going on. The Emu farm owners have cheated innocent farmers with their attractive offers. Poor farmers are trapped in middle of nowhere.
The Emu Scandal news was published in all news papers in tamilnadu. The issue with Emu crisis is, initially the big Emu farm owners got some deposit money from the farmers and announce they will give some dozens of Emu chicks to the farmers along with a pure gold coin as a bonus and monthy they told they will give incentives to breed the Emu. Later on they can sell their Emu at good price (300/kg) as meat and to extract oil from its fat.
Some Poor and margial farmers initially thought, it is something that will return good money by breeding Emu. Many farmers paid deposits to the EMU farms and got emu chicks and gold coins. For some time period they gave incentives to attract more deposits from several farmers. Last few months they stop giving incentives and in Real world the EMU meat can able to sell only for 100 Rs per Kg. Egonised farmers went to enquire about initially they said they were in some financial problem and later on they closed the EMU farm in an overnight without any notice. Farmers complined about it to police and as a group they went to Emu farm and saw there are 3000 Emu chicks were starving for food and water and 1000's of Emu were found dead. This is the real incident happened in Erode district, Tamil nadu on first week of August.
