Hi,

I am new to this and doing research. Please excuse me if this might be a very basic question to all here.

I understand that I need to be a farmer to buy agricultural land in most states. I read there are some ways around this but wanted an answer from this forum.

1. Do I need to be a farmer to buy agricultural land?
2. If yes, are there any ways around this if I am not a farmer by birth?
3. Do I need to be a farmer even for doing Floriculture?

Regards,
Abhijit

Dear Abhijit

Indian Agriculture law says that
1.An Agriculture land has to be sold to a farmer only.
If you are not a farmer than
There are many loops to acquire the land by taking permission & ect..& also you are planning to become a future farmer.

Thanks & regards

Abhijit,
In KA/MH you need to be a farmer to buy land. Not in OTHER states.

Yes, there are loopholes but you are at mercy of revenue dept officer if your farm is successful eventually.

You need a certain background and attitude to live after you have bought land with loopholes. If you don't have those (you know what I mean), I would recommend better not buy land in KA/MH. Rest of the states you are OK.
