Devil's backbone also know as Red Bird Cactus, Christmas Candle and Japanese Poinsettia .The scientific name for this plant, Pedilanthus tithymaloides "Variegatus", means foot-shaped flower. Devil’s backbone boasts a stem that “zigzags” at about 1-inch intervals, with leaves alternating on each side of the nodes. The leaves of the variegated plant include white, cream, greens, pink and red colors, while the shoe-shaped flower clusters may be red or yellow.
