does anyone have experience with buying and installing controlled atmosphere storage units in India. Would appreciate advice on which companies currently deal in this kind of products, how much they cost, servicing etc. in India.

Controlled Atmosphere

Thank you for your posts.

I have identified three major players apart from Premium Farm Fresh Produce:

- Blue Star
- Voltas Limited
- Emerson Climate Technologies

I am interested in Products / Prices / Service offered by Indian and foreign companies in India to set up a controlled atmosphere storage.

My work involves research of the market and prepare a strategy paper for a European CA Storage producer. This should help to make the right decision regarding:
- Is there a potential in India? If yes, then which way to go:
- Export
- JV
- Own set up in India

Information available

the companies you have zeroed in on are just providers of refrigeration equipment and have done hardly any controlled atmosphere cold storages in India.
Voltas for eg provided just refrigeration equipment to Adani for their plants in Himachal. They later tied up with Besseling group for CA equipment, which is not very good equipment and is highly priced due to commissions earned by Voltas in the same.
Bluestar has not done any CA store in India so far.
So I would not advise you to go with these companies for CA equipment as they would be very expensive because of the higher commissions.
