I am in Chennai. We have 10 coconut trees of 10 - 15 years old.
Oflate in 8 trees the leaflets are listing down even when they are greeny. Now, even the bunch of entire tender coconut bunchs are following down. What is the reason and what is the remedy .

URGENT PLEASE.

Also in the remaining two trees there is no problem and coconut pulp is very huge and I would like to germinate the same in plant in the vancant place. Kindly give me the method of germination of the coconut from the nuts at home since the nut is very huge.

HI Sumathi,

Have you checked for any insect damage near the leaves or any residue on the leaves??? If there is Abnormal bending or ribbing of the leaflets, flaccidity of the leaves, general yellowing followed by marginal necrosis of the leaflets, then the crops are affected by root wilt. The best remedy is take a leaf to the nearest coconut board , the officer there will guide you, if you are unable to diagnose what it is.

there is no such residues. We find that there are some bettles in our garden with dark brown/black in colour. Also if you know, where is the coconut board in chennai. Or can I approach KVK?
