sir,
i want to know as to how many coconut trees can be planted in an acre?
how long does it take for the coconut trees to yield?
how many times in a year coconut trees will yield?
what could be the approximate quantity of nuts each tree may yield?
is it advisable to pluck the nuts during tender stage itself or should it be allowed to grow to its full potential? from the point of returns...
Thanks...

Hi

The number of plants depends on the spacing you adopt. For most of your questions the answer is it depends on the variety you grow and cultural practices you adopt.

general information

1)generally its 70-90 trees per acre

2)yielding-- usually dwarf variety starts yielding after 4-5 years
tall variety yields after 6 years

3)through out the year- only harvesting is done periodically

4)good hybrids will yield minimum of 150-200 nuts per year/tree

for last question it depends on your market
