First up all can you provide 80 litres water to one coconut tree?if its ok you can think it and go for coconut cultivation.The soil of the land will be wet conditions allways.But aviod water satgnation and logging in your land.Now the selection of the seedlings will be major ro;e in coconut farming.Now a days some hibreed and hiyielding varieties are availiable .as per yield concerned we can get nearly 140 coconuts per year per ordinary coconut tree varieties.But at the same we can get nearly 225-250 coconuts from hybreed like DXT,Txt ,MYD &COD.The yield will starts from on completion of minimum 3-3.5 years .Now a days in coconut farming the farmers will face much difficulty for harvesting the coconuts and also cleaning the tree in the crown.For example the tree climber will claim nearly Rs75/-per tree for harvesting the coconuts and cleaning the grown.But now we have promoted one coconut hybreed variety called DxT 'Ramganga" .The salient features of the this variety wil be more like very short in height so we need not claim the tree for harvestig the coconuts and cleaning.we can do harvesting the coconuts from groung level.The water content will be more when comparing with other existing Dxt varieties.The content of the water will be minimum 600 ml some times the water will be more and soil condtion is very fertile the water content will be 750 ml.The 'Raamganga ' coconuts can be used for tender coconuts aswellas matured coconuts.
