Borewell water

Hello,

we have drilled borewell 350 feets for the agriculture land, but we got only 1.5 inch water. 1.5 inch water we got when the borewell is drilled at 150 feet, after that there was big stone even we drilled down till 350 feets stone did not come to end, but the water force is same as 1.5 inches. we have only one and half acre land, it is red soil.

I wanted to know is this water is sufficient for my land to do the irrigation?

If yes what capacity motor we have to use?

1.5 inch of discharge means 1500 GPH discharge is sufficient for 3 acres.

the requirement also depends on at what depth you have hit the underground water.

It depends on crop you grow,soil type ie., texture and structure,soil profile, ground water table, temperature, season, wind velocity, water quality and its method of application.

Thank you very much for replay, the information is very helpful for my quiries.



we are planning to grow pomegranates plants, we have tested soil from the exports but they said that soil is good for growing pomegranates. The worry is that whether this water is sufficient or not. water requirement is required only in summer and winter. in the rainy season we will get enough rain at our place (Haveri district in Karnataka). It would be very grateful if you provide me more information on this borewell how we can do the optimum utilizing.
