Hello All,

Can anyone brief what are the types of biomass fuels and how can we make ues of them in our regular life.
Is there any government body available, if so kindly let me know.

Biomass is biological material derived from living, or recently living organisms.
A biomass fuel is a fuel that contains energy from geologically recent carbon fixation.
there are 3 types biomass fuels imean biofuels
1.The biodiesel is the best alternative of the usual diesel used in vehicles.
2.Bioalcohols are another type of biofuels that are produced by the action of certain aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. The most commonly produced bioalcohols are ethanol, butanol and propanol. Amongst these ethanol is the most commonly used bioalcohol, butanol is used comparatively less and propanol is used rarely.
3.Biogases are produced by the action of certain anaerobic bacteria.

Hi

Usually bio-fuels can be obtained from following plant sources

1. Jatropha
2. Pongamia
3. Bio-fuel producing yeast/algae

In India thrust is given for Jatropha

You can mix this oil with diesel in 70:30 or 80 : 20 ratio and use for vehicles

Regards
Harish
