BEWARE OF THIS CHARACTER -

I am a newbie in Agri and one so called consultant called Varathan contacted me 6-7 months back regarding providing agri consultancy.
He promised me of getting 50K lands in areas which were typically 70K+ earlier this year. He boasted of having contacts in the village area and hence the attractive rates and discourages buyers to going to the village level for negotiation. This is modus operandi
He asked me for 5 Lakhs advance to pay up smaller farmers in order to get contiguous land. Trusting his grey hair, I gave him the amount since I wanted to get the deal done ASAP.
Over the months, his interest waned on my project and he got me some bogus documents that were ridiculed by my lawyer. I realised that this guy was highly incompetent (in at least getting me the right land with clean docs). So I asked him to give back my deposit since no land was finalised so far.
Today, after 3 months he does not pick up my calls and seldom replies to my SMSs.
I believe his modus operandi is collect deposit from people in the pretext of paying up the locals and getting a good deal for the buyer. Beware of this person since he is very friendly and ever-optimistic and will get you excited about any agri project.
If you have made it so far, then either you are sympathetic towards my situation or have experienced a similar situation yourself -
