Cinnamon Leaf -Scientific name:Cinnamomum verum syn.Cinnamomum zeylanicum Family:Lauraceae
Bay Leaf(Sweet Bay)-Scientific name: Laurus nobilis Family:Lauraceae
If any one want Indian bay leaf/Tejpata saplings(Air layers) from Assam,I may be contacted.The tree grows fast and selling the leaves is a good business.For growing tejpata tree,moisture & ground level water are required.
Cinnamon leaf contains eugenol and cinnamic aldehyde whereas Tejpata leaf contains linalool & cinnamic aldehyde. Tejpata leaf can be substituted by Cinnamon leaf is inferior substitute of Indian bay leaf/Tejpata.For pictures,see
