Dear Sirs,
We are interested in establishing a large scale, export oriented Banana farm in maharashtra. Since I couldn't locate any reliable information on the feasibility of Banana farming in Maharashtra, it will be really great if you could enlighten me on the following:
1. Which areas in Maharashtra are ideally suitable for Banana farming?
2. Is Dodamarg area suitable for commercial cultivation of Banana? If there are no major negatives in this area, we would prefer this area to establish the farm.
3. Where are the large Banana farms in Maharashtra located at? Can any one give the contact details of any large Banana farms in Maharashtra?
4. What are the realistic yields achieved in well established and professionally run Banana farms in Maharashtra?
5. Considering the export oriented approach, we would like to follow 100% organic cultivation (while adopting modern irrigation and agricultural practices), with proper certifications. Any information on how Banana responds to organic cultivation, especially in Maharashtra?
6. Are there any state or central government support available for setting up such a plantation?
7. What are the important factors to be considered while venturing into a large scale Banana farming?
8. can vermicompost project be set up with the left over of banana.
I have been visiting this forum for many months now and I notice that many knowledgable and experienced members give their valuable inputs to others. When we are embarking on such an ambitious project with substantial capital and resource outlay, we earnestly look forward to your valuable inputs / comments.
