Aegle marmelos (Bael) The bilva leaf is the sacred leaf to perform pooja of lord Shiva. The fruits of bael is now maturing and changing colour. The bael fruits can be sold as a crude drug in the market. The matured fruits should be collected from the tree, it should be steamed for 15 minutes in vessel or cooker, cool, break it, separate it from the outer hard shell, dry the inner pulp in open sunlight on a plastic sheet for 4-5 days. The dried fruit pulp can be sold in the market. The juice of bael fruit is good for stomach ailments, it is pleasant and tasty. Several tons of bael fruit is required for the Ayurvedic medicine market.
