The state chief minister (CM) last month, a group of developers from the city are expecting an audience with him again in the coming days. One of the major points that the developers are likely to discuss with Chavan is the issue of affordable housing among others.
Sources present at the meeting inform that the developers also discussed avenues like developing a central business district in Thane, automatic conversion of non-agricultural plots in the district, and formulation of policies for faster and better rehabilitation of slum dwellers among others in the city. Developers said that if a scheme like MMRDA's rental plan is implemented in Thane then the problem of housing the displaced would be minimised.
With local trains starting as early as next year, contact me for NA land.
