I am facing this acute problem in my 500 acres of plantations each plot is about 50 acres in area.
Here are the symptoms:
Disease One:
1. Stem of the sapling planted last year, first become soft/spongy than start rotting. Than after that sapling completely get dry and inner to bark covering there is black powder may be fungus.
2. Pith also become black.
3. This is spreading in all the new saplings planted last year.
4. The height of saplings is around 1 - 1.5 feet.
5. There are leaves on the saplings which become spongy. Bit with time all leaves shed and plant dies and completely dry up. Root is also dries up and become black.
6. termite attack on dried plants is there. But not on green plants.
Disease Two:
1. Rotting in the collar portion only. After some time it spread to the whole plant. Black sap oozes out of the plant and the plant also become dull and black with time, Shed all the leaves. Roots are green but upper part id only affected i.e. above collar portion only plant is affected.
Q1: Kindly tell me the name of the disease?
Q2: What is the control Measure?
Q3: Give some broad spectrum Sytemic Fungicide and Insecticide that can be applied in Jatropha
