In these uncertain times, High-Profit and Low-Risk Agriculture, is only possible thru hi value tree culture. Most suitable tree species for such a purpose are,
1) Malai-vembu & Kumizh teak in irrigated lands,
2) Red Sanders and Mahogany in field borders.
Malai-Vembu, a wonder timber [@ 435 trees/acre] would give a minimum net value of 35 Lakh rupees, just after 10 years and it is highly suitable to be grown in both plains and hills.
Kumizh-teak [@ 675 trees per acre], performs well in the hills, to give a net value of 45 lakh rupees, after 10 years.
