Bamboo

Hi..
I want to plant bamboo as wind break at my farm in Madhya Pradesh.land is undulated and soil type is rocky(red,black,brown soil)murram type...which variety should I go for and what should be the spacing? Will it also help in maintaining any temperature at the farm(I mean to ask ..Will the bamboo generate any income for me n in how much time,,.i want to grow pomegranates n someone recently told me that pomegranates will not grow well there because of cold weather conditions...but the maximum temperature there in the winters is 6-7 degrees...pls advise accordingly on both these issues..
