hello all,

I am from Hyderabad and am having a 5 acre land in which 0.5 acre is utilized for construction of shed and worker quarters and remaining for agriculture.

due to power shortage , i am not able to water the crop as before with the existing bore which is 3 inch, and the yield has reduced drastically.

i have drilled another additional borewell hoping for more water but am getting only 1 inch of water in this new one.

i was advised that i can still grow crop with this 1 inch using drip irrigation system.

1)i would like to know if this is possible with 1 inch water supply for about 7 hours a day.

2)if so, how much area of land can be covered with drip.

3)and also which crop is most suitable under these circumstances.

4)are there any reliable drip irrigation system suppliers who could analyse my situation and set up for me.

5)what would be the set up cost.

could you please analyse my situation and guide me.

eagerly awaiting replies.

regards
swastik.

hello swastik.
drip is very good irrigation. in this way you can save your money ,water and also you can get best corp, and corp is depending on climate . you have a lots of option like vegetable, flower, rice at-extra, its total depending on climate, but if we talk about drip you can corp anything with drip irrigation,

Hello Mr Patel,

Nice to know that irrigation with drip is a good thing to do.
i had contacted Jain drip irrigation for their quote.
they said that with a 3" water delivering borewell we can cultivate 4 acre of crop. ( I hope that's true ;) )

i was thinking more like corn which doesn't need daily monitoring.
once we sowing is done i don't have to worry about the crop till the harvest date.
where as vegetables ,its a daily job and that would make it difficult to handle with unstable labour.

are there any other crops that you would advice .
i have heard medicinal plants are a good business these days.

regards,
swastik nath.
