Dear Dhaliwal
As described by you your place is most suited for geranium cultivation which is highly economical to grow. The orchard you have can also be utilized for shade loving crops. Thanks aromedindia@gmail. com 09451504200 |

Geranium is a high value essential oil plant. The oil finds wide application in flavor and fragrance because of its rose like odour. So far, India produces a limited quantity. Rest (150-200) tonnes of rquirement is met from import from other countries.Little cool environment is required for its cultivation.Geranium cultivation has been takenup by farmers in Uttranchal but because of small holdings, topography and poor irrigation water availability only small quantity is available from this place. Since your land is situated near hills it may be ideal for geranium. Yield varies from 40-60kg/ha. the present selling price is minimum Rs.4000/kg. If the plant s do not die in rainy season(as it is common in UP) it can become a perennial crops.
