hi,
we are engineer couple from Bangalore, having land with a bore well in out skirts of Bangalore, we are interested in starting a diary farm with 10 cows , 20 sheeps and goats, along with rabbit rearing.

Cows:
Which Cows do you suggest us?
where do we get them from? How much does each cow cost? how many liters of milk does each cow yield? How much does the fodder cost for each cow /month?
whats the profit we can expect per cow/month?
How is the daily maintenance done?
How many labors are needed?
what is the minimum infrastructure needed to rear ?

Hell,
It is a very good idea of rearing cows.

From the business point of view, you need to select animals which not only produce a large quantity of milk but also can withstand environmental factors like diseases, extreme climatic conditions. India has 27 breeds of cows. Suggesting a particular breed will require some research as you are in an urban setup. I will get back to you regarding the same.

Cost per cow generally depends on the quantity of milk it produces. the usual range is from 10,000 to 1,00,000.

Maintenance of cows: a well ventilated clean cowshed is a must.
The cows should be atleast 3 meter square area apart. The place has to be kept clean at all times.

To look after 10 cows, i presume two labours are enough.
The labour includes cleaning of sheds, cleaning of cows, milching the cows, feeding the cows.

Productivity of the business:
Milk.
Cowdung for manures.
