ignorant farmer ??

hi, i am starting a thread for the first time here." ignorant farmer".i said this because,most farmers get to know about the prices of their produce only from the buyers or middlemen,who might have fixed up a price which would be much less than the actual markt price. now my concern is,

1.how can a farmer get to know the exact market price ??
2.minimum support prices !!! check out the gov't website,it's showing prices of 2007.whom to rely on ??
3.how to educate farmers to access internet ?
3.which are the sites,that are providing clear cut information ?

If you want to know the prices if commodities in the market then visit
Agricultural Marketing Information Network - AGMARKNET. This is a site where you will find all India market prices.

The minimum support prices is only for the politicians to preach about their support to the poor farmer and not for any practical use. Don't read too much into them.

India has to go a long way if you want all farmers to log on the net for information. But at least some farmers are surfing the net for information and using them.
