Default Rose farming

We are planning to cultivate rose (Open Field) at Sangli dist, Maharashtra. Can anyone in the group inform me about the economics of rose cultivation. i.e.cost of wild plants, grafting, inputs (fertilizers, insecticides etc) and the average yield one can expect per acre. Information on average net income per acre would be very helpful. It will be useful to learn the economics of rose cultivation using green house and export potential.

Thanks

Dear Sir

Primary Information Services
21 Murugappan St, SwamyNagar Ext2,
Ullagaram, Chennai - 600091, India.
Phone: 91 044 22421080 Email : informer@eth.net
Mobile numbers:9940043898, 9444008898, Fax 91 044 22423753

The polyhouses in which cutflowers are grown are of various sizes ranging from 500 sq.m.to 10,000 sq.m. (One hectare). They also differ in terms of cost as (a) low cost-Rs.125/m2 , (b) medium cost- Rs.500/ m2 and (c) high cost-Rs.2000/ m2, depending upon material used for construction and other facilities provided in them.
An investment in a polyhouse of one hectare size with medium cost comes to almost Rs. 50 lakhs, which is quite high. Considering high initial investment, the Government of India has introduced scheme of subsidy from 10% to 50%.

Regards

Kirti

Dear Sir

Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority ( APEDA), responsible for export promotion and development of floriculture in India, grants subsidies for establishing cold storage, precooling units, refrigerated vans and green houses, and air freight subsidy to exports.
