Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Ajay Devgn: What’s common to them?
Besides being the top-notch actors of Bollywood, there is one more thing that connects the trio… and that is their passion for farming. It’s no secret that Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan hold cultivable lands and both are keen on farming (Alas! Their gruelling work schedule doesn’t permit them to follow their hobbies)….. in fact, Big B had even proclaimed himself as a farmer and Aamir, too, has voiced his desire to partake in organic farming (His next production ‘Peepli Live’ revolves around the lives of Indian farmers).
But, it is the ‘Phool Aur Kaante’ actor Ajay Devgn who has beaten them all and has been an active farmer for the last 3 years and dealing with various ‘Phools’ and ‘Kaantes’ (‘Flowers’ and ‘Thorns’), literally.
Ajay is a proud owner of a 28-acre farmland at his Karjat farmhouse on which one can see 4500 papaya trees, 2500 banana trees, 500 green-berry trees and Kesar and Hapus Mango orchards.
“Well, I‘ve always been keen on organic farming. We grow our own vegetables like brinjals, Lady’s finger, raddish and even fresh tomatoes,” cites Ajay.
And the icing on the cake is that…….. for the last 3 seasons in a row, the ‘Devgn Farm mangoes’ have been winning the title of the Best Mango prize at the ‘Raigad Zilla Mango Competition.’
Now, that’s what’s called ‘Aam ke Aam aur Guthliyon ke Daam’………
