You can go for bund planting of Melia if you wish. Bund planted Melia is known to grow faster possibly because of less competition. Melia is not known to have allelopathic effect on other crops.

What is meant by "3yrd year onwards" ? By this do you mean Melia will give recurring income from third year onwards ? No, it is extracted once and the coppice will take 3-4 years again to grow to exploitable size.

    Hi Ashoka,

The melia Dubia tree is a fast growing tree specie in the world. But fruitfull yield will be got on completion of seven years. This is called low density plantation.By this low density plantation we can accommodate nearly minimum 500 seedlings ( 9'x9' spacing dimension ) and maximum 620seedlings(9'x8' spacing dimension)in one acre land. The melia Dubia plantation will do in high density plantations/cultivation.We can accommodate nearly 2800 seedlings in the spacing dimension of 4'x4'.We can get the yield on completion of two years only the total yield will be minimum 50 tons per acre. But this melia Dubia timber can be used for biomass fuel purpose.Because the melia Dubia timber will gives more calorie reading among all kind of timbers. So the high density plant ion will be done subject to the availiablity of proper buyer with assurance.

    Thanks
