Dairy Farming with Milk processing facility

Hi..!, I am doing some feasibility study on milk processing, need help..!! We are planning to start medium size dairy farm with 500 cows and in the same premises a milk processing plant. we want to setup a milk powder plant to manufacture SMP, WMP along with by products. Need your input on how to go about..? also in a milk powder plant what are the by-products and for say 10,000lts of milk how much SMP, Butter and any of by products that can be made..?? Also what are the machineries required to manufacture these products..?? thanks,

Let me answer to all your queries one by one:-
1.Dairy farm with 500 cows could be:-
a) 500 HF Cows (Total revenue from milk would be around 2.5 crores and profit would be around 0.75 crores)
b) 500 cross breed cows ((Total revenue from milk would be around 2.25 crores and profit would be around 0.6 crores)
2.for a SMP plant the products/ bye products can be:-
1. SMP
2. White Butter
3. Flavoured table butter
4. Ghee (clarified butter)
5. Curd
6. Flavoured Milk
8. casien etc.
3. If all of 4% butter fat Cow milk is converted into SMP then you can get:-
a)398 kg of Ghee or 490 kg of butter
b)800 kg of SMP

Machinery requirement would depend on your choice of product mix. Also , if instead of 10000 lits you keep processing under 10000 (for e.g. 9500) then you also need not apply for MMPO.
