Sanjeevan system used for stimulation of extraction of silica:

Balanced nutrition is the base of healthy crop. Among these nutrients silica is one of the most crucial nutrient, which plays a major role in making the crop resistant to insect and fungus attack. The author believes that the importance of silica has not been properly communicated by scientists to farmers.

Silica is one of the essential materials from which the soil is formed. Silica plays an important role in the life cycle of crop as follows –
i) Silica is one of the most crucial nutrient which plays a major role in making the crop resistant to insect and fungus attack.

ii) The program of self-protection is strengthened by silica. The crop becomes hard and rough and can protect itself from
a) biotic stresses such as insect and fungus damage and

b) abiotic stresses such as extreme changes in temperature and shortage of water.
iii) Silica encourages more tillering in paddy, wheat and sugarcane

iv) Silica improves phosphate and potash availability.

v) Silica improves photosynthesis so that crop is able to prepare more food and consequently more yield.

As seen earlier silica is much more beneficial. Sometimes it plays equivalent role to NPK and other nutrients. It was observed that in spite of abundant availability of silica in the soil, plants are not somehow able to absorb silica easily from the soil.

The Sanjeevan way of making silica available to the plants:

According to Sanjeevan system the blockage in the energy of absorption of silica can be removed by Prana Shakti of prithvi, vayu and tej i.e. life forces of earth, air and fire elements respectively. To achieve this objective extract of the plant Cardiospermum Halicacabum was obtained, potentised 100 times and used as foliar application.

H.E.-Si. is sprayed on the leaves 15 days after germination or transplantation of the seedlings. There after it is sprayed one or two times according to requirement of the crop with one months duration. Dose of the spray is 1 ml per liter of water.

The Advantages:

i) Uptake of silica increases nearly by 25% in wheat

ii) Due to more uptake tillering is improved nearly by 40% in paddy, sugarcane and wheat.

iii) The greenness, roughness and area of leaf blades are improved in these crops so that the photosynthesis is improved.

iv) The roughness distracts the fungus and insects in tomato, onion, paddy, cucumber, cucurbita, and bringle. The infection is reduced nearly by 60 to 65 %

v) The crops like capsicum, sugarcane, could sustain the stress of the water shortage than the non-treated crop for at least 20 to 21 days.

vi) The strength of stalks of paddy, onion, and wheat is improved so that there is minimum lodging of the crop. The dropping of the seeds is avoided due to lodging or drooping of the weak stalks.

vii) All the factors discussed above result into increase in the yield of the wheat by 9 to 10 %
