Mr. Karthikeyan on “How to cultivate chillies by organic farming”

Mr. Karthikeyan is the Managing Director at Virtul Technologies in Dindigul, Tamilnadu.

Mr. Karthikeyan says “Organic farming is a crop production method respecting the rules of the nature. It maximizes the use of on farm resources and minimizes the use of off-farm resources. There is a lack of availability of certified seeds of chilli of that could be used by organic farmers. In fact, there is a need to develop suitable varieties or hybrids for organic cultivation and making them easily available to the farmers. The Different variety of indian chillies are Bhut jolokia, kashmiri chillies, guntur chilli, jawala chilli, kanthari chilli,Bayadagi chilli, torpedo chilli.For organic cultivation, open-pollinated crop varieties are preferred.”
