New biomolecule against cotton bollworm (helicoverpa) in cotton and chickpea which is available in both organic and synthetic variants.
Cotton Bollworm-Helicoverpa armigera: a serious problem
-Major insect pest
-Polyphagous in nature
-Has 181 host plant species
-Attacks many economically important crops, such as
cotton, chickpea, pigeonpea, sunflower, and so on
-Rapid emergence of resistance to commercially available
insecticides

In a breakthrough research, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), under the
patronage of the Department of Biotechnology, has developed a plant extract-based
biopesticide formulation ‘Bollcure’, against cotton bollworm (Helicoverpa armigera), a
common larvae affecting cotton crop yield.

Composition
Bollcure is a plant extract of Eucalyptus. It is 100% environment friendly, suitable for
conventional, organic, Bt cotton, and Integrated Pest Management crop practices, apart
apart
from its mild antifeedancy.

Bollcure: a user friendly formulation
- Type of Formulation : Liquid Emulsifiable concentrate (EC)
- Mode of Application : Spray
- Frequency of Application : 2–3 sprays required each after 7–10 days interval
- Shelf Life : 1 Year
- Eco-friendly

Scale at which the technology has been developed
The technology has been scaled up in the laboratory, followed by two years station field trials at IARI, New Delhi and further by multilocational trials at various agri universities and ICAR institutes. The technology is ready for commercialization.
Details of independent validation
The laboratory work was revalidated by Indian Agriculture Research Institute (IARI), New
Delhi. Field trials were conducted by scientists at IARI. The Multilocation Trials were
conducted at following four locations by ICAR Institutes.
Cotton
1. At Nagpur (Maharashtra) by Central Cotton Research Institute, Nagpur
2. At Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu) by Central Cotton Research Institute, Coimbatore
Chickpea
1. Sehore (Madhya Pradesh) by JNKV, Sehore
2. Jaipur (Rajasthan) by ARS, Durgapura, Jaipur

These trials were successful. The data from the above trials have shown Bollcure to be an
effective biopesticide against cotton bollworm in cotton and chickpea.
These are available in two varients- Organic Variant and Synthetic Varient.
THE MRP OF TWO BOTTLES ARE Rs.500 and Rs.450 respectively But for all AGRICULTURAL INFORMATION.COM PORTAL viewers these will be available @ Rs 400 for Organic variant and Rs. 350 for Syenthetic variant. Transportation charges extra. PL PM ME WITH YOUR REQUIREMENT
