The expected yield will be up 9 tons per acre , if each kg is Rs. 10.00 to 15.00 , expected income will be Rs.90000 to 135000 per acre , deduct cost of cultivation approximately Rs.30000 to 35000/- , the expected income will be Rs.60000 to Rs.100000/- per acre only

Hi, 9 ton drumstick production, what about leaves production, moringa profits lives in its leaves?

If you are going for leaf production the spacing has to be reduced, do not allow for bearing , the economics of leaf production different, please contact us for further clarification

Dear All,

I am planning to start cultivating drumsticks farm at Bidar, North Karnataka. Could you please advise me which variety is good, like Bhagya, PKM 1 or ODC 3. Bore is required or not necessary. Initially planning for 5 Acres.

Thanks in advance

Hello,

I am planning Moringa(Drumsticks) on my farm. We have red loamy soil on a dry land belt. 4inch water is available from 2 borewells. We will opt for drip irrigation.

From the information i have, one can get 20tonnes yield per acre in one year. Current mandi rate for drumsticks is 35 rs/kg (say 30rs)
So, one can expect gross receipts of 30rsX20000kg=6lacs per acre per annum.

The cost involved is Land development + seeds/samplings.

Is this information correct??
Am i missing something??

Expecting advice from people already into moringa cultivation.

thanks in advance,
Rehman.

I have my own moringa farm in 3 acrs doing organic way.

I have not crossed even 2 lac per year for the entire acrs.

Don't go by calculators, fact is different.

Are you cultivating for drumstick leaves or pods? The difference in profits between the 2 is huge How much yield are you getting per acre? How many plants do you have per acre?
