Hi All,
I have posted some of the images online related to banana disease.
The banana is of yalakki variety. I am not able to identify the disease.
i suspect it is yellow seagatoka disease but at the same time i guess there are some deficiency issues too. please advice me based on the photo the steps to be taken to control the disease.

thanks in advance for your valuable time.

Thanks
Maha

disease banana

It is very interesting blog. From the pictures I can see the following.
1. the planting source is not a tissue cultured plant.
2. the diseases are sigatoga and CMV, possibility of fusarium also is there more pictures needed to confirm as very preliminary symtoms are seen.
3. there is no proper sucker management leading to depleting energy leading to more diseases.

Nice case to understand proper management/knowledge of disease control from day one is necessary.
Result:- lows yield of about 8 to 10 kg bunches

Hi Anil,
Thanks for your time. Let me give you brief abt this banana cultivation.
I am engineer.like to move into agri.so i leased out this land.this banana(uploaded image) is 1st ratoon.owner did not manage 1st crop well.so i continued the 1st crop from the end.As you are aware labour is the issue.2nd there is no source/guidence related to management of crop available.even if we want get info it takes its own time.so i took some picture and posted so that i can get some good info.please find my inline comments to ur answers.

1. the planting source is not a tissue cultured plant.
Yes your are right.

2. the diseases are sigatoga and CMV, possibility of fusarium also is there more pictures needed to confirm as very preliminary symtoms are seen.

from internet i could get some knowledge on sigatoka rest is difficult for me to identify
3. there is no proper sucker management leading to depleting energy leading to more diseases.

yes ur right.last week we used the same sucker as planting material.i will take up handling suckers well hereonwards

Result:- lows yield of about 8 to 10 kg bunches

1st crop was around 10kg yeilded even without proper management for almost 5/6 months by the owner of the farmer.
I tried for getting TC plants. But as you know it takes its own time. Currently it is not drip irrigated.its flood irrigated. May be fertilizer management etc need to be improved. Even i studied precision farming material from Special Technology :: Precision Farming. So basically i am in study mode and at the same time try to gain some experience by reading blogs.

Will post few more phots by monday.
