PRESS RELEASE

Goa Agricommerz declares Bonus
Goa Agricommerz Ltd. has declared bonus to its shareholders at the XVII Annual General Meeting of the Company. The plantation estate of the Company is primarily engaged in the business of horticulture on its own lands of more than 100 acres purchased in the year 1992. The income of the Company is generated from thousands of fully grown fruit yielding trees of Cashew nut, Coconut, Mango, Guava, Areca nut, Banana etc. Since its inception, the Company has been making steady progress and growth and has been making profits.
Since agriculture / horticulture depends mainly on monsoon and other climatic factors, the company has made only small profits this year but its Reserves & Surplus have accumulated over the years. Against its paid up capital of Rs. 336.85 lacs, it has reserves of Rs. 1259.95 lacs almost 4 times its capital.
In the coming years, the Company has planned to make optimum utilization of its land by planting more hybrid varieties of Coconuts, Cashew, Mango, Banana, Pineapple crops. It is also proposed to increase production by intercropping of quick yielding varieties of spice plants and vegetables.
To save the perishable fruits & vegetables from rotting, the Company is planning to set up a Processing Unit for processing Cashew at the Farm Site itself so that the facility may be used for processing the produce from neighboring growers too. The necessary permissions and approvals for setting up the Unit are being obtained. This will result in better remunerative prices to the local growers and savings on transport costs. Once the processing unit becomes operational, the Company has plans to export ready – to – eat fruits and vegetable products to international markets.
For creating the necessary infrastructure, the company is in the process of tying up with some private investors both domestic as well as international to participate in equity as joint venture partner. The Right Issue option to the existing shareholders is also being considered by the management.
