Global AgriSystem Pvt Ltd. (GAPL) started Indian operations as Cebeco India Private Limited in 1998 as a joint venture with the Royal Cebeco Group Co-operative, the Netherlands. “Since June 2003, the joint venture ceased to exist and Global AgriSystem Private Limited started functioning on its own,” avers Mr. Vijay Rattan Bhardwaj, manager marketing & supply chain. The company is headquartered in New Delhi.
Mr. Gokul Patnaik is the chairman of Global AgriSystem.
“He has worked on developing Indian Agribusiness in various roles including as chairman of APEDA. Mr. Patnaik is credited with creating notable public: private partnerships in the Agri Business sector including engineering the landmark partnership between PepsiCo and Punjab Agro,” maintains Mr. Bhardwaj. Mr. Sunil Sharma, the managing director, has in-depth experience of the Indian agriculture. He has worked in senior positions across the key agricultural sector public organizations such as general manager, APEDA; executive director, National Horticulture Board and Punjab Markfed. Mr. Sharma specializes in agri infrastructure projects including wholesale markets cum auction centers, food supply chains, marketing centers, food industry and storage – transit systems.
Product Line
GAPL is into three major business verticals: agribusiness consultancy; export of fresh fruits and vegetables; and domestic trading of fresh food items. “In the field of agribusiness consultancy we are one of the leading players in the country. In the export vertical, too, though we started 2-3 years back, GAPl has the best rated pack house, vast farmers’ network and has done quite well in last two years,” avers Mr. Bhardwaj.
