Golden is right now concentrating in growing new varieties of foreign palm seedlings and araucaria cookii seedlings.

Araucaria-CookiiGolden Floriculture Co. was set up in 1998 by Mr. Kanchan Rai, who was a bank officer for 10 years, before concentrating on the nursery business full-time. “My father also had a nursery in Mirik, Darjeeling district and he inspired me to develop this business. My main motive was to germinate palm seedling for Indian nurseries. I am propagating many kinds of palm seedlings for which seeds are imported from around the world,” he avers.
The company supplies seeds, plants and flower bulbs in the domestic market as well as abroad. It specializes in tropical seeds and plants. Golden Floriculture has its head office in Kolkata.

Palm & Araucaria Cookii Cultivation
Golden is right now concentrating in growing new varieties of foreign palm seedlings and araucaria cookii seedlings. “Every year I germinate 500,000 lakh araucaria cookii seedlings and sell to the local nurseries,” maintains Mr. Rai.
The company has a 22 acres farmland in Dhanchabaria village in West Bengal. “There are approximately 1000 nurseries in my farm area. I am growing various kinds of palm seedlings for which seeds are imported from abroad and I am selling these seedlings to the local nurseries,” he avers.

I am interested in cultivating all the 360 species of genus Elaeocarpus belonging to family elaeocarpaceae known in various parts of the world as Rudraksha(Asia),Blue Berry Ash(Australia & Newzealand),Silver Quandong (US & Europe), Blue Marble tree etc. I am particularly interested in the species Elaeocarpus ganitrus Roxb. for religious reasons. Can you supply the seeds of all these species, at least those found in your locality?

am an Organic Farmer holding 135 Acres Family Farm Land near Yavatmal in Maharashtra State. This monsoon I have planted 90000 Eucalyptus Clones supplied by PSPD ITC Ltd Sarapaka near Bhadrachalam in Khammam district in Andhra Pradesh.

I am interested in inter cultivating a suitable crop within the plantation.

We are very much involved in organic agriculture and aquatic plants.

We are keen to have some tips about ‘How to germinate Palm seeds’ from
those having wide experience in this field. We are not so successful in
germinating palm seeds.
