Default Intercropping for coconut plantation

We have 4 acres of agriculture land at visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, near the coast. Currently we have coconut palms in the land. Now I want to try some intercropping in the plantation, for increasing the returns. Basically the land is a sandy type. I do not have further details about the site like the PH values or so.

Water availability is a little scarce. The annual rainfall is comparatively quite low. We are currently dependent on ground water from bore wells. Please suggest me any intercrop varieties under my scenario. I tried to collect some information from the web but want to hear from an expert.

Please suggest me the cost effectiveness also, if you can.

Thanks in advance,
Satish

Patchouli a good crop, will rquire little moe water in summer.Alternatively satawari and sarpgandh-perennial and can do under limited water but long duration-2yrs. Andrographis is annual and can florish under shade.

Hello Aromedindia,
Thank you very much for your suggestion. I'll try to gather more information on these varieties. BTW A quick question. Are they suited for sandy soils?
Regards,
Satish
