Smile Vegetable cultivation using drip irrigation

Dear forum members,

Please share your knowledge on using drip irrigation for vegetable cultivation.

1)Is it feasible to grow vegetables using drip irrigation and organic fertilizers only?

2)Will the planting pattern any different from flood irrigation?

3)Is there any body who have done it? If so can you please share your experiences.

4)Is the yield more or less than flood irrigation?

Default Veg cult. using drip iirri

Drip system is always better than flood system because:
-less water use
-better soil aeration
-less weed growth
-higher fertlizer use efficiency
and higher yield than flood.
thanks

Dear Raja

Please share your knowledge on using drip irrigation for vegetable cultivation.

1)Is it feasible to grow vegetables using drip irrigation and organic fertilizers only?Yes it is feasble to grow vegetables using drip irrigation system.U have to be particular while selecting the system. If u are optng for a long term investment then go for inline lateral which is costly but has a longer life. if u want to cut down on the capital cost at present then opt for drip tapes which are much more econmical.

2)Will the planting pattern any different from flood irrigation?yes u have to change the planting pattern if using drip system. otherwise the cost increases.

3)Is there any body who have done it? If so can you please share your experiences. There are lot of farmers now opting for drip irrigation systems, check with any of the local drip irrigation system dealers, they can show u such farmers

4)Is the yield more or less than flood irrigation? The yield has been proven to be higher than flood irrigated crops. scientifically as well as practically. It reducesthe labour cost, and the effectivity of water, also reducesyour umping and the water used.

with regards
