There is this small plot of 2 to 3 months old bananas that I maintain. I'm growing them the bio-farm way: no chemical ferts, no chemical insecticides. How do I get rid of the 1 inch long, yellow, hairy worms (or are they caterpillars?) eating away the tender green banana leaves? Tried catching the fellows one by one and squeezing the life out of them; it does work, but is there a less time consuming way, like spraying neem oil or tobacco-solution?

Dear Sir,
Just do not do any thing, with in weeks time it will vanish. It is harm less or it dos not cause any problem. Trying to control the same , will cost several time more then the damage it self. |

Dear Sir
The worm have approached to the sudden change in environmental conditions. U may spray neem oil no problem at a 5 day interval. Actually u could have tried Endosulphon but as u said ur crop is organic dont go for it. manual killing and neem oil are the best Kirti |

The worms have eaten up a half of one of the leaves leaving that area looking white like paper. I guess they have eaten up all that was green in the leaf. When I squeeze the worms to kill them it is a thick green liquid that comes out of them which has the colour of the leaf itself. Are you sure they can do no harm to the plant?
