small Dairy farm

Hi

i am from andhra pradesh,and i want to start small dairy farm with 10 buffelos with 100-150 ltrs for day can any one suggest on this that how much money i needed for this
because this is the my drem from past 15 years

please help me in this

For 150 litres @ 10 litres from each buffalo you are looking at 15 buffaloes at 15,000 rs per buffalo.

The shed will cost you around 1.5 lakh....

15 buffaloes @ 15,000 Rs. will be 2,25,000 Rs..

Just keep 4 lakh rs for the entire project and you are ready to go.

I am expecting you have enough land to raise fodder for ur animals..

Can u tell me which breed of buffalo can give 10 litres of milk per day and also cost Rs.15,000/- ?

As far as my knowledge goes the Murrah breed gives about 8 - 15 litres of milk on high energy feed (ratio of feed to milk is 1:2). But the Murrah breed cost a whopping Rs. 60,000 - 80,000 per buffalo.

If you do have contacts of people who can sell buffalo @ Rs.15000 and also give milk of even 6 litres per day please do let me know. I would be glad to put up a 20 buffalo diary right away.

It is interesting to note your Figures & caluclations of Dairy farming.

I hope you are aware of the fact that a buffaloe today costs nothing less than Rs. 50,000.

Please do let us know where you get these buffaloes @ 15000. I do have many clients who would gladly purchase more than 100 at a time at this cost.

If you are not keen on breed, yield etc. I can find a few hundred healthy looking buffalo cows for you in Kerala for about Rs.20,000.

A tiny little elephant calf can be bought at Rs. 50,000 but the probelm is one can't milk elephant calves!
