What is the best / optimum irrigation system

I would like to seek the views of the members of the group on the irrigation system

1. What is the best irrigation system for the set of vegetables / crops - Brinjal, Tomato, Ladies Finger, Onion, Chillies; Creeper / Climber Vegetables like Bitter / Ridge Gourds
   
2. Is Drip Irrigation or Ridge & Furrows or Sprinkler System or any alternate system.
   
3. How many litres of water is required to irrigate an acre of each of these vegetables

Drip irrigation or sprinker irrigation is best alternate ,it need less water, and give more output.Moreover it discourage weed growth.

Initial investment of installation is high ,however it pays in long run.
