Default Measurement of area

I think first u have to make map of different patches based on certain scale. thenworkout area with a plainemeter. This how area of zig zak plantation or land can be calculated. Graph paper can also be used but there can be variation compared to plainemeter.

If forest plants have been planted with a specific spacing, then calculate the area under forest plants. Then anyway u know the total area.So Total area -area under forest cover will give u the area under crop of ur interest.

kirti s is an unknown quantity at this point

Dear Sir

U do one thing roughly take a base point. It may be a big tree, wall, pipe of fence around the planting area.Than take a measuring tape and measure the overall area from the base point. or measure the area around the plants. Once u get the overall area u can subtract this area from the other area u took and get a rough estimate of the area under planting.

Other wise u must have certain spacing among the trees u can get the planted area by multipling the number of plants into the spacing =no. of plants X (spacing)sq.

Dear Friend,
There are 4 ways of calculating the area under crops in multicropping or mixed planting system.
1) If it is an annual crop, Find out the seed requirement /Ha and the quantity of seeds sown will give the area under crops.
2) Find out the recomended spaceing from cultivation manual of State Agri. University or spacing adopted (i.e Distance between Row to row and distance between plant to plant in meters). The formula = 10000/spaceing in meter will give no of plants that can be accomodated in a Hectare.
3)The Number of plants present in yur area will give an rough estimate of area occupied. Count the number of plants and estimate the area occupied.
4) Finally or as last resort, find out the yield of plants and compare with the expected yield /hectare from which U can estimate the area.
