Thumbs up GOAT/sheep FARM !! just a request.

I would like to request all the interested guys in commercial goat/sheep farmings, to be in touch with each others by emails and share the REAL- progress + hardships + experiences of joy in this field.

I have Immense Interest for going for the commercial goat farm and a dairy farm in INDIA, hyderabad in a very near future.

Right now i am in USA , getting some ideas and lessons reg, i have visited some of the goat farms in USA, they prosper collectively, and are able to control the meat-market because they have their association, and many of their problems and hardships are solved very easily coz, they help each other, hence they all prosper and do good progress, they share the breedings of real 100% BOAR GOATS & many other rear-species etc.

WE can read many of the problems of our friends here in this forum, have problems of marketting goats (IN A COUNTYR LIKE INDIA,where we have full demand of goatmeat and the population of human is the 2nd highest in the world),in- availability of good vets, healthy food and fodder etc x etc.
our markets r controlled by middlemen, we should try to elliminate those blood-suckers(DALLALS),which is a very-old idea TO BENEFITT THE MIDDLEMAN / BUTCHERS, AND THE POOR FARMER IS JUST POOR.

I would like to request all, who r already indulged in goat-farmings,please do not sell your goats per piece . sell them according to their weight which will benefit you all.Change the old-practice which benefitted the dallals and the butchers,.
The main benefitts should be to the actual farmers, who puts all his efforts in this goats, which will not harm to the consumers, but the real-profits will be in the pockets of the ultimate farmers, and NOT with middleman & butchers.
thank you. keep in touch. tc

Dear Lucky,
Nice to know that people are keen to get together for a common cause, already there are very helpful mails on various topics by members and offering advice or sharimng info.
I would also like to know more about goat farming ,i am based in South Tamilnadu, and seek help and info from people who know about goat farming.I am talking about meat and not milk.If anyone can give me a project report or consultancy ,i would appreciate.
I am keeping my options open between a dairy farm(thanks to the beautiful, comprehensive and informative article from Dr Chandrakiran Sant),and a goat farm for meat,as i have good fertlie land and plenty of water.
Look forward to some interesting exchange of information.
Regards

Hi LUCKY

Great Job indeed. I have experienced what you have rightly stated. I tried to make this kind of union but could not succeed and finally sold out all the live stock overnight to get rid of the exploitation.

I shall be happy to help you in your endeavor to the extent possible.

Please be in touch

Wish you all the BEST.

Thanks and Regards

Default Modern farm with cluster method

Hi,
I undergone one training for Goat/Sheep in KVK, Chennai. Around 40 - 50 people attended that training. We are planning to start cluster method, in that some of them planning to do farming, some slaughter house, some packing unit and 1 coldstorage. All product will come with same brand name. also our own marketing. Here people from different part of Tamilnadu, All the place will be the same brand name. our purchasing of raw material and marketing will be centralised. Even city we are looking outlet with cluster. all same model with our brand products. All follows Standard Operating Procedure with Modern slaughter house. we can avoid middle people in this filed.

Also we chance slaughtering what they are praticing now in the market.

Thumbs up Dear ,unitedfarm.

I would like to know, what city your UNITEDFARM is concentrating for this project?
please give some details ,so that the other indian state members can also take some guidances from you ppl. and may be a part and parcel of your growth.
see some of our members have lost their money & confidence ,by overnight selling the animals , this will surely BOOST -UP their confidence again.
may be we can come out with the same name and brand for ALL-INDIA market, from some of the other states, this will save the transportations, and our members can sell their animals to the main body and in this process all the members will be proffitted ,and the same time indian consumers will get the healthy meat food too.
please do reply, and be in touch with this forum, do exchange the views too. thank you.

A great idea and wish you all success. I too am planning to get into goat farming near Lucknow, U.P. I hope we all togather can get the middle men out and the benefit acrues to the actual farmers and the retailers and we can cut out the middle men in this trade. If we can form an Association of Goat/Sheep farmers on an all India basis would be great.
