Dear JP,
Actually if you mean, processing harvested seed... it is not very labour intensive. I have seen machines which can be fired by fire wood (to accomodate rural electricity load shedding etc) or electricity and the process is pretty simple. The seeds are steam softened, easing the process of cracking the external casing, and then recycling the steam heat for drying of the extracted seeds. The cost of a machine which can take in about 5 Kgms/run (once) delivering about 20 Kgms/shift is said to be about Rs. 20,000.00. However, I can reconfirm if you contact me in case you need further help. You may contact my email ID prolifemumbai@rediffmail.com Regards, Dutt |
