Hello,
I am decided to go for paddy cultivation using organic farming. I will be pleased if i get some details on that. 1) is there any project report on paddy cultivation. 2) merits and demerits of paddy cultivation 3) I am planning to go with machineraies not with human resource. so i would liek to know what are the different machines are available start from cleaning the land to Final production. 4) Since i am from chennai, is there a place where we can rent those machines on hourly basis. 5) Is there any disadvantage of using machineries. Waiting for your reply. Thanks! Venki. |

I think you would do well to cultivate paddy under "SRI" method. You can use machineries, avoid all types of inorganic fertilisers, pesticides, etc.
However, you will find difficulty in locating a transplanting machine as not many are available. Since you mention Chennai, I believe your land would be around 150 kms radius of Chennai. For all other operations like weeding, you can use a kone weeder, for spraying you can use hand or mechanical sprayer which you can rent in most cases from the local village itself, most of the harvesting is mechanised and hence you should have no difficulty for the machineries. As to disadvantage, I dont see any significant disadvantage. best regards kayapakkam |
