ORGANIC FARMING starts from soil/land preparation itself..

1.sow green manure crop like daincha or sunhemp and plow insitu in about 45-50 days
2.Apply farm yard manure/ compost / cured pressmud @ 10 Mt per acre
3.when planting is done apply 100 kgs of neem cake + 1 kgs each of phosphobacteria, azospirillum
4.Also apply 1 kg of pseudomonas florescens / trichoderma viride
5.Add VAM fungi

seeds and seedlings treatment with azospirillum, phospho bacterai, t.viride/ pseudomonas..before planting is recommended..

-vermicompost @ 1 Mt per acre may be applied in lieu of other compost or farm yard manure

- Rock phosphate as basal dose will enhance roots and plant establishment and further development

Pest and disease management

-Cow urine spray/ panchakavya spray/neem oil/ neem kernal extract spray/EM/jeevamrutha spray are advocated both as nutrients and pest and disease control measure..

-chillie+ zinger+ garlic paste controls sucking pest...

-trap crop around border or as intercrop control pest..

- yellow sticky traps/ light traps between 7.00 P.M to 9.00 P.M attract insect and kills ...

-Pheromone traps attract male moths and prevents mating...thereby controlling further multiplication of insect population...
-Nochi leaves/tobacco leaves extract/ coconut leaves extract / pungam leaves extract controls virus and bacterial disease..

-vasambu powder ( acorus calamus) Ocimum sanctum leaves extract controls bacterial disease..

-use of predator/ parasite --bio control

Crop rotation...

After harvesting one crop better plant some other crops either of leguminous family or other crops so as to control and check insect pest by breaking life cycle...

Fallowing of land---rest for land for about 6 months ...recoup soil fertility status...

organic mulching will reduce weeds growth and also conserve soil moisture...

Manual weeding is recommended in organic farming...

The methods of organic farming varies with crops...

Minimum 3 years are taken to convert conventional farming to organic farming...

certification agency...both govt.. and private agencies ( international certification agencies) operate in organic certification...

State government is operating schemes for organic farming thro supply of organic inputs and cash portion as incentive...approach your govt..agriculture department nearby...

-Banks are giving agriculture loan particularly NABARD encourage organic farming ...
