u can cultivate medicinal crops like periwinkle, asparagus, long pepper, bhringraj, madhunashini, senna etc in that area.
among them periwinkle , asparagus and senna have very good demand in markrt.if u need further information please convey ur message.

dear sanjeevini,

in case of periwinkle(catharanthus roseus) -crop duration is 1 year,expenses/hac will be 20000 rs, total return will be -124000rs.its stem, leaves and root can be sold.

in case of asparagus crop duration is 3 year,expenses/hac -15000,total return after 3 year will be 350000 rs.its roots are economic.market rate is 50000rs/tonne of root.u will get around 7 tonne root/hac.

in case of piper longum crop duration is 5 years.total expenses/hac-42500 rs.total return after 5 year will be 2,20000 rs.
this economics was worked out in 2000.so now some slight variation may be there.

Sorry i forget to tell u regarding stevia.u can grow stevia also.that is highly profitable as compare to previous mentioned crops.

U can contact -Samyuck,27,central excise colony,hospital road,saidapet,chennai-600015 for planting material.

In Bangalore two firm namely

They r supplying planting material.
