Out of curiosity. If I actually found a plant that is yet to be officially discovered, how in depth would a peer-reviewed journal article have to be to declare it? Wikipedia also talks about a monograph.
Second question. If my first question entails very in depth research, what course of action would be taken to get the word out there for others to follow up on the discovery?
In addition to the above, obviously in depth research would have to be done to make sure it is indeed a new species which kinda answers my original question but I am curious about feedback to this question if anyone has any experience with this.
