Hi,
The Malabar neem cultivation is a familiar among the farmers now a days because it's valuable yield and use age.And it's comes under short term cultivation I.e minimum eight years. The low density cultivation is wise able and more profit while comparing with high density cultivation.

We can plant minimum 500 seedlings and 600 plants maximum in one acre. The standard &. recomanded spacing dimension will be 10'x10'(450 plants),9'x9'(500 plants) & 9'x8'(620 plants) for low density cultivation of Malabar neem in one acre.

The spacing for High Density cultivation will be 4'x4' .The required Malabar plants for one acre for high density cultivation will be 2750 seedlings.?The cultivation period will be minimum two years for high density cultivation. The logs of the Melia Dubia from high density cultivation can be used for fire wood, poles and bio mas power generation .The high density Melia Dubia cultivation will do against confirmed & assured buyers.

Regards,

A Sivakumar,

So far this Timber was not ready for Harvest anywhere in India. The Plywood companies are purchasing the Big Trees in Mysore which were naturally Grown on the Bunds of the Fields. We can expect the Marketing only after the Product is ready. However we are Promoting a Company/NGO for Marketing of this Timber after Harvest as suggested by TNAU Officials. Now we are on the Job. Because this Timber is of multiple uses, there will not be any Problem for Market/Demand on the following reasons:

1. Govt. Of India has imposed a permanent Ban on drawing of Timber from Indian Forests.
2. Almost all Naturally Grown Trees were exhausted for the use of Firewood, Plywood, and Timber etc.
3. Presently most of the Furniture is being imported due to lack of quality Timber in the Market.
4. Most of the Timber for Construction is being imported.
5. Being it a Fastest Growing Tree in the World, it will give ample Timber on its Harvest.
6. It is a Fact that almost all the Plywood Industries are importing Timber for their Raw material Timber needs.
