Details required for starting a dairy farm with 10 HF crossbreed cows
pls find answers to all your queries below:
1. Cost of HF crossbreed :- Rs. 40000/- to 50000/- per cow.
2. land Required (excluding land for forrage cultivation) = 400 square meters, it includes land required for machinery, veterinary room, feed storage, machines and 10 cows with space provision for calves and milk room.
3. Milk Yield :- Average production from good HF crossbreed should be around 4000 lits in a lactation (animals being less than 3 years of age) or 20 lits as peak daily production.
4. Milking machine should cost you around 60,000/- (Branded 2 cluster bucket milking system)
5. Premium rate of cattle insurance varies between 3.5% to 4.8% PA.

starting on 23-05-11. It is good for beginners. No formalities . fee is Rs. 1000/.
