    Dear All,

    What is the Milk Output of the following indigenous cows?

    Kangayam - ? Litres
    Umblacherry - ? Litres
    Bargur - ? Litres
    Alambadi - ? Litres
    Pulikulam - ? Litres
    Vechur - ? Litres

    Also, where do I get these cows and the rates for each of them? Also, which 2 are the best for organic farming?

    AVailability and details of this particular breed of kangayam at
    Senaapathy Kangayam Cattle Research Foundation,
    Kuttappalayam ( p.o. ),
    Tiruppur District,
    Formerly Erode District,
    Tamilnadu -638108.
    India

    The cows are generally poor milkers but there are encounters of fair producing abilities.

    Umblachery breed is an excellent draught cattle of Tamilnadu noted for its strength and sturdiness. milk from the animal is utilized for home consumption. IT is a poor yielder and yields around 4-5 lts per day according to a study.


    Bargur is found in coimbatore district of tamil nadu.

    Vechoor is a small animal from kerala and less yielding

    hai,
    generally south Indian breeds are high milking varieties but they are comparatively very good in over all production.all these breeds can be used for organic farming.for kangayam breed you can contact the above address or visit the website www.kangayambull.com.Bargur breed is not from coimbatore breed it is from bargur hills in erode district.our association is committed for the conservation of this breed.for more details you may contact the Senaapathy Kangayam cattle research foundation.
