is our climate suitable for cultivation
i am intrested in growing this crop sappan wood crop

The Hindu : Sappan, a natural dye yielding ornamental medicinal plant

The main use of the wood seems to be for producing natural dye, and the pods are used to produce tannin for leather industry. And for live fencing. Grows well in all kinds of soil but best in red soils, tolerates drought.

Checked the photos of this tree, I probably have a few of these trees in my farm. Was planted by the previous owner as a medicinal tree.

Hi Nilesh & Vinay,

I have a 20 acre farm with cashew, coconut, lemon, amla and mango trees in Tirunelveli. Just got the land 6 months back, all the trees were planted by the previous owners.
