Default Seeking advice to develop 30 acres land

Hello,

I'm getting around 30 acres land 35 kms East from Sangli city in Maharashtra state. The land primarily consists of 4 acres of so called flat farm land and rest somewhat hilly land (In Marathi we call it Maal-Raan). The soil is bit rocky and noone has ever cultivated anything there. We get avg good rainfall in tha region and ample water can be stored during the monsoon season. Can I use this type of land for planting fruit gardens like Mango, Grapes, Anar etc.?? What could be the initial investment?? Can anyone guide me on how to cultivate in rocky soil??

Thanks,
Shiri

Default utilization of undulated land

I have no expertise in fruit crops. Probably Anar among the listed plants can be cultivated. But essential/aromatic oil crop, palmarosa will definitely come up and prove economical to grow.

See dear,

a lot of options are there and depending on the soil quality and other topography crops can be decided, there is never a soil where nothing can be grown and i have been doing even without soil...See i have an organisation with the name of agrotech green innovations...we are into everything from consultation to growing and marketing, apart from flowers we do everything, and we have developed our own hi-tech horticulture production systems, we have expertise in waste land development.....see if u really serious you can call and forget your problems and leave it to us...but pls dont follow somebody who has little experience in it..

Default Emu Farming

Hello Sir,

I would recommend you to start Emu farming over there. I have my Emu farm. These are very rough and hardy bird and can stay on barren and a little bit rocky land.

Regards,

Jignesh

Fruit plants cultivation with a long term benifits is a more suitable option for mal ran if minimum water availability is there. If huge investment is possible then and then only go for greenhouses and soil less culture. Just visit Shrivardhan Biotech on the way Jaisingpur to Ichalkaranji and see what can be done on mal ran. Kindly contact me for any further assistance.

Thanks,

Dear Shiri,

The details given by you is not sufficient for anybody to help you. people responding and giving advice do not take responsibility. It is essential to know soil pH, water EC, other water parameter, altitude, wind, soil texture, structure, water table,is the soil laterite, floods, slope, fertility and depth of soil.
crops grown, your ability to manage, investment possible etc.,
it is better you tieup with a consultant to get proper support as investment for 30 acres is quite substantial. there are other business parameter also to be studied.

the land may be suitable for many fruit crops. investment for fruit crops is around 15 to 20 thousand per acre based on various parameters.

Hi Shiri,
I think cashew is better for your land. Please avoid single crop (monoculture), prefer treditional crops, food crops, fruits, vegetables etc...
visit and discuss with your nighbour farmers and nearest agri officer...
